Picking up railroad ties to outline our garden. We were able to get many supplies needed for our garden due to a TD Charitable Foundation mini-grant we received through Vermont Campus Compact.
Thank you so much to everyone who came out today for Green Up Day! A special thanks to Reg and Andy from Newport Parks and Recreation for collaborating with us on this!
Amongst the many participants today were several Boy Scout troops, the NCUHS track team and their coaches, NEKCA CAYS youth and staff, Americorps workers, gubernatorial campaign volunteers and Newport's own Mayor, Paul Monette!
Our group of over 70 people collected more than 100 bags of trash, 3 couches, 7 TVs, over 50 tires and a bevy of other items. Great work guys!
Believing in each individual’s potential for positive growth and change, The NEKCA Teen Drop-in Center is committed to empowering young adults who seek emotional, educational, nutritional and peer assistance to improve the quality of their lives. We provide direct program activities, referrals, advocacy, and education in a non-judgmental manner to the teens of the communities in the Northeast Kingdom.
